The Portrait Project: The Many Faces of LGBTQI People of African Descent : Project Vision: Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual, Queer, and Intersexed (LGBTQI) people of African descent can be found in all spaces, navigating all kinds of relationships and experiences. Systematically as people of color and LGBTQI folks we often are left out of mainstream media and to many we are invisible. Many Faces of LGBTQI People of African Descent is a project that seeks to gather images and stories that capture the diversity of our experiences and personalities, including them in a photography book. To Participate: I am looking for folks that intergenerational, from different regions, representing different gender expressions. Participants should identify as LGBTQI and have African Diasporic roots, however that is manifested. Participants will be asked to sign a photo release form and participant agreement form. In exchange for your involvement you will receive either an 8 x10 print or CD with a copy of an image of your choice.
